Manager, Corporate Social Responsibility (18-month contract)
Corporate Office – Vancouver, BC

Reporting to the Vice President, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), this is an 18 month contract with the potential to become permanent. This role will provide leadership in various aspects of Goldcorp’s CSR priorities and the CSR framework to effectively support business objectives. The successful candidate will provide direction for the implementation of Goldcorp’s Sustainability Excellence Management System (SEMS) and the effective application of the SEMS standards. This role involves working with team members across Goldcorp to continuously refine CSR metrics, manage policy and program development, manage content for different CSR initiatives and building partnerships with different internal and external stakeholders to deliver business performance.

Responsibilities:

Assist the Vice President, Corporate Social Responsibility in developing and implementing Goldcorp’s CSR framework, including: 
  •  Developing and assisting Goldcorp’s operations in specific elements of the CSR framework 
  • Developing information regarding Goldcorp’s CSR performance and responding to inquiries from interested stakeholders 
  • Assisting in preparation for engagement meetings 
  • Developing and implementing effective CSR communication strategies 
  • Assisting with preparation of annual sustainability reports 
  • Support Goldcorp participation in industry organizations 
  • Integrate cost effective planning of CSR into projects 
  • Support the implementation, improvement and management of controls and audit systems 
  • Provide strategic direction and support for the implementation of Goldcorp’s SEMS 
  • Ensure that new projects are aligned in conformance with the SEMS framework and standards.
Other responsibilities include: 
  • Lead policy and implementation program development; establish performance KPIs, and related data collection and reporting systems
  • Manage the collection and reporting of Goldcorp’s CSR performance metrics 
  • Work with operations to analyze quantitative and qualitative data to identify trends and to address gaps 
  • Establish, lead, and leverage partnership opportunities among industry, international financial institutions (IFCs), major cultural institutions and Non-Governmental Organizations 
  • Foster positive business relationships and build appropriate contact between NGOs and company personnel, ensuring effective responses to concerns 
  • Coordinate CSR activities with country risk assessments to ensure our CSR activities are aligned with perceived social and political risk 
  • Assist in the training and education of Goldcorp’s employees in corporate social responsibility matters

Aptitudes y conocimientos deseados

Requirements:
  • A university degree in social sciences, CSR management, environment or other related field and at least 5 years of experience in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility with a company, government, or non-governmental organization 
  • Excellent judgment and the ability to balance multiple matters in a very busy environment 
  • Sets goals, leads by example, develops trust, wins respect, and challenges status-quo 
  • Proven ability to work effectively in multicultural and multidiscipline environments 
  • Superior oral and written communication skills, relationships management and partnership building skills 
  • Strong interpersonal skills to liaise with internal stakeholders, particularly at Goldcorp’s sites and development projects 
  • Motivated individual with excellent analytical and organizational skills 
  • The ability to effectively manage project timelines and provide leadership 
  • Spanish (fluent speaking, reading, and written proficiency) is required 
  • Ability to travel as required.
